“SOKA” meaning VALUE (Japanese origin)
Welcome! I’m so happy that you’re here checking out my work ! If you vibe with any of it, please comment , share this site with others, or purchase something for your space!
Here’s a bit about me and how I came to realize my most recent dream: creating in color. I’m a young artist in my 60’s, and I’m so inspired to communicate with paint on wood , canvas and panels.
Who I Am :
I’m all over the place: a textbook Gemini.
Im a Buddhist chanter, yogini ,teacher, singer and volunteer. I’m also a “mothership”, partner, daughter, and Grammy.
What I’ve Done :
Studied abstract and oil painting , taught piano, voice and yoga , soloed in
choral and contemporary venues, announced on FM radio, served as a singing waiter, wrote and recorded pop songs, directed student musicals, and operettas , and performed in them myself.
Where I’m From:
Born in Kansas, raised in Chicago, graduated In Austin, painted in Minneapolis, taught in San Diego, performed in Sicily, had my daughter in Ventura, mothered in Port Hueneme, taught in Camarillo, found my soulmate in Phoenix, summered at Oxnard Shores, and painted there and in the desert, until I had enough pieces to set up this website!
Where I’m Headed:
I will continue to make art , chant ,travel, practice yoga, work out , ride my bike , play and sing at my piano, play with my grandchildren, beach - comb, and deepen my connections to family and friends.
